Loss of Lives and Property

At least 10 people have lost their lives due to the heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh. 9 of these deaths happened in Telangana, while one person is missing in Andhra Pradesh. The rain has also caused property damage, and many people have been forced to leave their homes.

Rivers Overflow and Flood Villages

Rivers in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have overflowed, causing severe floods. The national and state disaster response teams have worked hard to rescue thousands of people from the flooded areas. These people have been moved to relief camps for their safety.

Train and Road Disruptions

The heavy rain has caused major disruptions to both road and rail traffic. Over 100 trains have been canceled so far, and several others have been diverted to different routes. Many roads are blocked because of waterlogging, making it difficult for people to travel.

Prime Minister’s Assurance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to the Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He has assured them that the central government will provide all possible help to deal with the situation.

Weather Alerts and Safety Measures

The weather department has issued a red alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rain in several districts of Telangana, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Mahabubnagar. The Telangana government has declared a holiday for schools in Hyderabad due to the bad weather.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of Telangana held an emergency meeting to review the situation. He urged people to stay at home unless it is necessary to go out. In Andhra Pradesh, heavy rain is expected to continue in districts like Vijayawada, Srikakulam, and Kakinada.

Governments have advised people in the affected areas to stay indoors and be cautious. It is important to follow the instructions given by the authorities and avoid traveling if possible.
