A Norwegian citizen, Rinson Jose, Kerala-born Entrepreneur Linked to Explosive in Lebanon Explosive
Rinson Jose, a Kerala-born Entrepreneur has come under investigation in connection with a series of blasts involving pagers used by Hezbollah in Lebanon. The explosions, which took place on September 17, 2024, resulted in the death of 12 people and left over 2,000 injured. These pagers were reportedly used by Hezbollah to evade Israeli tracking systems, relying on older communication technology instead of modern smartphones.
Investigations have expanded across Taiwan, Hungary, and Bulgaria, as the pagers were linked to various companies. Initially, it was believed that Taiwan’s Gold Apollo manufactured the devices, but they denied involvement, pointing to Hungary’s BAC Consulting, a firm tied to the transaction. Further scrutiny revealed that a Bulgaria-based company, Norta Global Ltd., founded by Jose, was involved in supplying the pagers.
Rinson Jose, who was born in Wayanad, Kerala, and later moved to Norway, has been cleared of wrongdoing by Bulgaria’s State Agency for National Security (SANS). They confirmed that no such devices were produced or exported through Bulgaria. Meanwhile, Jose’s family in Kerala believes he has been wrongly implicated in the case and remains supportive of him
